Inter-Alumni Sports and Family Day!

Can you recall your house days as a Hilarian?

Remember the last time you went to an Intercol match (with a Pizza Hut lime to follow)?


Does it take you back to the competitive and sportsmanlike spirit in the moment of representing your school?

Well, here's your chance to re-live the glory days for Bishop Anstey High!

This June, we can all look forward to first ever Inter-Alumni Sports & Family Day. Hosted by the Old Hilarians' Association, nine secondary school alumni teams will compete for first place at this inaugural event!

Inter-Alumni Sports and Family 2015 will happen on June 19th!

Date: Friday 19th June, 2015 (Labour Day Holiday)

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Locations: Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Grounds, Port of Spain

Participating Alumni Associations: Bishop Anstey High School East/Trinity East, Diego Martin Secondary, Naparima Girls' High, Bishop Anstey High School, Presentation College, St. Anthony's College, St. Francois Girls' College, St. James Secondary, Trinity College.

Vote for Bishop Anstey High School in the SLAM GRAD 2015 Series!

SLAM 100.5FM has returned with its widely popular "SLAM GRAD" promotion, and this year Bishop Anstey High School has been shortlisted as a finalist! We need you to vote, vote, VOTE!




This is an excellent opportunity to ease the burden of finances for any graduating class, and to make their night a very special one. The winner of the SLAM GRAD Series will have an all expenses paid graduation ceremony courtesy the radio station. The ceremony will be hosted by Trinidad & Tobago's best radio personalities and DJ's. So many more prizes are up for grabs, so it's only right that we offer our support to the graduating Hilarians this year!



Remember, our girls have worked very hard for the last five years, and they are certainly deserving of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Hilarians Making History: Lorraine Granderson!


Ms. Lorraine Granderson is reinforcing the Hilarian dominance in the Arts!

Congratulations to this shining beacon of leadership in the music industry, as she has been selected as Trinidad & Tobago's Young Voices Principal Conductor 2015. She is now making history as the first female to conduct a choir of 4000 children from across the country!


This is the largest, most exciting children's concert to take place in the Caribbean Region, and will feature Jamaican singing sensation & The Voice Champion, Tessanne Chin!

Hilarian Thought Leader in Fashion and Social Media

From fashion shows to forums of burgeoning Fashion, Sports and Media personalities, Trinidad Tobago Fashion Week (2TFW) is in full swing.  Although 2TFW will also take over Tobago from Friday night, there are a few preceding events of note. Thursday May 14th's panel will be the one to watch----and not just because of its international influencers, including Fashion Bomb Daily's Claire Sulmers, empresario Ty Richardson, and international luxury fashion marketer Soma Lisa Choudhury. 

Tenille Clarke, a Hilarian will join this coterie of panelists to discuss media management, branding, marketing and public relations in the Caribbean fashion space.

Tenille Clarke is a media and public relations professional with a wealth of local, regional and international experience. Although known as a social media maven, also she remains well-versed in the power of multimedia as an ever-changing tool that propels brands, causes and mass discussions online. Tenille graduated from York University in Canada with a Bachelor’s Degree in The Humanities. focal point remains my innate passion for writing.
She has lent her expertise and insights to stalwart brands, including Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the Performing Arts/International Soca Monarch, National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) Ministry of Community Development, Tobago Fashion Weekend, Robert Young/The Cloth. She has written press releases for Charu Lochan Dass and Fashion Guru Richard Young, and handled several media and SIG portfolios for various launches, such as the Vogue-IT Masquerade event held in Trinidad in 2014. Additionally, Tenille has applied her penchant for technology, development and public relations strategy to CreativeTT/Ministry of Trade, Industry & Investment, Face of T&T & Kirk Thomas Makeup Artistry, among other organizations. 

Although very modest, Tenille is very congenial and is a true self-starter who is sensitive to detail, goal-oriented, and motivated. She credits her success to her impenetrable focus in all roles and responsibilities as it relates to media relations & development.

Language Matters!

In the highly anticipated book, "Language Matters," Marlene Davis, former head of the Bishop Anstey High School English department presents a guide to help Trinidadians and Tobagonians master the English language.

Mrs. Davis pursued consultancy following her 20+ years at BAHS. Marlene Davis Consultancy specializes in subject matter including Business Writing Skills, Presentation Skills, Adult Literacy and Professional Development. She is a thought leader, whose opinion has been sought out regarding the implementation of Continuous Assessment Component (CAC) of the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA). 

Her upcoming book, "Language Matters," aptly named after her weekly column in the Trinidad Express, features 150 pages with revision exercises at the back. It covers numerous topics such as grammar, pronunciation, spelling and vocabulary.
Copies of the book will be available soon in bookstores nationwide.

“My objective is not to embarrass anyone; I truly have compassion for people and do enjoy teaching the English language to anyone who is willing to learn.”says Marlene Davis.

Lupus Fundraiser and Awareness drive: Cupcakes for a Cause - 2


May is Lupus Awareness Month!

Last year was such a blessing that we are bringing back our Fundraiser and Awareness drive: Cupcakes for a Cause - 2.

We were able to give some much needed financial assistance to a student at Bishop Anstey High School following last year's initiative and this year we will be blessing the life of another student living with Lupus.
We've added another cupcake flavour to the mix as well, so feel free to let your taste buds run wild!
Those who participated last year can still remember how absolutely delicious these cupcakes were.
